Professor Kevin Kolben is an assistant professor at Rutgers Business School in the department of Supply Chain Management and Marketing Sciences. Title and summary of the communication :

“Incorporating Private Regulatory Strategies into Trade and Labor Regimes”

In this presentation I will suggest that contemporary approaches to trade and labor linkage have been overly focused on state-centric models, particularly in relation to states with poor regulatory and enforcement capacity. Instead, a more effective way forward might be to create linkage regimes that utilize newly emergent systems of private labor regulation, and that are designed to help develop public regulatory capacity.
